Ironman Collegiate Championship

Ironman Collegiate Championship Divisions

  • Individual Men
  • Individual Women
  • Team Men (two men per team)
  • Team Women (two women per team)
  • Mixed Teams (two either men or women, with one of the other)

Athletes will sign up as a team at PACKET PICK-UP the week of the race. There will be a special Collegiate Championship Table set up at registration. Team members must be from the same school.

Prizes will be awarded to the top five individual finishers, as well as the top three teams in each division. Special prizes for the Collegiate Championship will be announced in the Fall.

Qualifications:
The competition is reserved to the first 50 full-time collegiate athletes who sign up. Competition is reserved to full-time college students only. Students must be full-time students during the fall semester of 2009 to be eligible. No professional triathletes are eligible to compete in the Collegiate Championship.

Entry Procedure:
Athletes must mail a check for $550 payable to North America Sports along with full name, address, phone, email and photocopy of your current student ID card to:

  • Yes. Athletes can compete as both an individual and a team at the Ironman Collegiate Championship.

How do I register as a team?

  • Athletes can register as a team at PACKET PICK-UP the week of the event. Teams are men's (two men) women's (two women) and mixed (two men and a woman or two women and a man.) Mixed teams must be mixed. All team members must be from the same school.

Am I still eligible for Ironman World Championship spots if I compete in the Ironman Collegiate Championship?

  • Yes. Athletes who compete in the Ironman Collegiate Championship still compete in their normal age group for Ironman World Championship spots and age group awards.

I graduated in May, can I compete in the Ironman Collegiate Championship?

  • No! Only full-time, enrolled students can compete in the college championship. That does include full-time Undergraduate, graduate, law and doctorate students. All students MUST provide a photo copy of their CURRENT Student ID with their application to have it accepted for the Ironman Collegiate Championship!

When does registration for the Ironman College Championship end?

  • Registration for the Collegiate Championship will end when the first 50 applications are accepted.
